Susanne Krammer from Junemag is a make-up artist, beauty editor, founder of the online magazine junemag.com and mother. She tells us about her life-changing beauty hack and what puts a smile on her face in the morning. 

In our Niche Questionnaire she reveals her best beauty hack, her favourite Instagram filter and why she wouldn't be bored without Instagram.

 

1. Your personal life philosophy?

"I'm carrying an invincible summer inside me" That motivates me even in hard times.

2. And where is the next journey going?

Canada or New Zealand, that's not quite decided yet.

3. Which product can I take with me?

Augustinus Bader The Cream is a must-have for me, otherwise I get nervous. And the Brighten Mask from Herbivore is an ideal addition for me.

4. What does beauty mean to you?

That we stay in contact with ourselves and stand courageously to what we are and who we are. If we love ourselves, then a little mascara and lipstick will do the rest:)

5. Which Instagram filter is recommended or which foundation creates this effect in real life?

The best filter when it comes to flattering the complexion is definitely Valencia in the feed, LAGOS in the stories. Both filters emit something soft and equalize light and shadow. But when I'm on the road in 3D and can't put a filter over my face, I use the VITAL SKIN FOUNDATION STICK by Westman Atelier, which I find better than LAGOS and Valencia together:))

6. Who is a beauty icon?

Definitely Florence Welsh from Florence and the Machine. She is as much herself as she is and she shows herself exactly as she is. I think this fearlessness makes women beautiful in general and at EVERY age.  I think Florence is one of the most beautiful women in the world.

7. And heroes in real life?

Every person who decides to be himself, to speak his truth, to give up meat, maybe to ride a bicycle instead of a car, who tries to reduce plastic, who gives his children good value instead of leaving them alone in the digital jungle. Every person who stands by his love, even if it does not correspond to the ideal of others...our world is full of small and big heroes and I am so grateful that we have enough platforms on which they can show all their greatness.

8. What makes you happy?

To be alive. Now in this moment. If you think about what a MIRROR this is, you can't help but be happy.

9. Is there a Beautyhack that changes your life?

To look in the mirror in the morning and say "Good morning, I love you", to give me a smile and to be happy that a day full of adventure is ahead of me. To help my complexion wake up, I always use the Highlighter under the Foundation. That seems much more natural and not so brushed on.

10. A Beauty No-go?

Too much make-up on the face. If you're not at Cirque de Soleil or if you want your highlighter to be visible on Google Earth, then Reduce to the max. A little bit of something in the right places is the motto. 

11. Which brand at NB was a real discovery?

I love Sunday Riley, Herbivore Botanicals, Augustinus Bader and Royal Fern when it comes to facial care. When it comes to make-up, I am currently completely crazy about Westman's studio. LOVE IT!!

12. If you weren't an influencer, what would be a professional alternative?

Because I have been working internationally as a Hair&Make-up Artist, Brand Ambassador, Beauty Expert and Product Development since 2002, the world of influencers is more like an ad on and gift on top for me. If Instagram is deleted tomorrow, I would still not be bored.

13. Where in the world would you imagine living?  

In Vancouver, Canada. Because it's beautiful there and so close to Seattle ...another absolute favorite city of mine.
