The New York celebrity make-up artist Kevyn Aucoin is a true beauty legend. As a make-up enthusiast, he developed the first nude collection back in the 1980s, promoted Sculpting and was a trendsetter in a natural beauty philosophy. He coined countless catwalk looks, campaigns and photo spreads. In the 1990s he was one of the most sought-after make-up artists and worked with icons such as Cindy Crawford, Naomi Campbell, Madonna and Cher.

To get to know his exceptional Make-up Range, we talked to the Kevyn Aucoin Beauty Director of Make-up Nick Lujan and asked him about the Top 3 key trends in make-up and how to create them:

The 3 top trends that I am seeing on all platforms, also happen to be classic trends now that have stood the test of time.

1. GLOWY, GLASSY SKIN

It gives the appearance of a youthful, highlighted, healthy look. The best way to achieve this, is by incorporating 'Glass Glow Face' into your makeup wardrobe. There are a few ways to wear 'Glass Glow Face', here are my top 3:

      1. Mix a bit of 'Glass Glow Face' into your skin care or primer
before applying, to create a healthy radiance from within.

      2. Mix a bit of 'Glass Glow Face' into your cream or liquid foundation,
to customize the level of radiance.

      3. As a final step, dab a small amount of 'Glass Glow Face' to the high planes of
the face as a highlighter. Use gentle pressure to press the texture into the
highest point of the cheek bones, bridge of the nose and décolletage.

2. COLOR WASH EYES

Color Wash is one of the easiest & best ways to start playing with color and texture. The trick is to choose a color that works with the story you want to tell with your makeup. Start with your color close to the lashes and diffuse it outward from there. Try using ‘Cream Foil Shadow’ from the ‘Emphasize Eye Design Palettes’, by KEVYN AUCOIN BEAUTY.

      1. Prep your eyes with a bit of foundation.

      2. Start by applying a dot of ‘Cream Foil Shadow’ near the upper lash line.

      3. Stretch and blend the ‘Cream Foil Shadow’ over the lid and
into the crease of the eye.

      4. If desired, add a similar shade of eye shadow to intensify color.

3. PERFECT POUT

Start by applying a natural tone of lip liner as a base to any lip look. Kevyn believed, that your lip pencil should match your natural lip color, so you can overdraw or perfect the lip shape in a natural way, no matter the lip color you choose to finish the look. I am loving the 'Unforgettable Lip Definer Pencils', to shape the lip and as a natural lip color.

      1. Line and balance the cupids bow.

      2. Line and balance the center of the lower lip.

      3. Connect from the corners of the mouth to meet the
already lined and balanced center of the lips.

KEVYN'S TIP: Set the lip liner with a sheer veil of loose setting powder to lock everything in place for longer wear.

Thank you!
