Costa Brazil
The richest formulas from the Brazilian jungle
This singular, high-potency complex was developed after working with a team of scientists and local agriculturists to combine advanced modern technologies with the nourishing powers of the natural world.
What's Kaya? Exclusive to Costa Brazil, this sustainably harvested superfood helps revitalize the appearance of your skin’s texture, firmness and natural luminescence. It moisturizes, nourishes and improves the firmness of the skin.
What's Cacay? Rich in Vitamins A and E, Omega 3, 6 and 9, this potent oil contains 50% more vitamin E than Argan oil and is a natural source of retinol, which helps improve skin tone and reduces the appearance of fine lines. It smoothes, moisturizes and improves the skin's firmness.
In the interview with Niche Beauty, Costa Brazil-Founder Francisco Costa tells us all about the development and effectiveness of his new beauty line:
What was the most important part to you, when creating Costa Brazil?
The most important part of creating Costa Brazil has been the aspects of immersion. To create a brand that voiced the new needs of our times - that the beauty of nature is directly associated with the health of the planet.
What’s the common ground between designing fashion or developing a whole new beauty line?
It's similar in the way that when I designed fashion, I always began with the yarns and the fabrics (the raw materials). In beauty, I use the same design approach starting with ingredients. The ingredient story has become an obsession as it has dictated our product categories. It’s telling the story through its efficacy, potency and the sourcing mechanisms we use.
What makes the Jungle Complex so special? Besides being a unique blend to Costa Brazil, the Jungle Complex is the perfect balancing act of 3 super powerful indigenous ingredients - food for the skin. It’s composed by Breu resin (our first ingredient found ), cacay and Kaya (our ingredient exclusively). The combination is a super rich formula containing aminoácidos, high protein content, calcium, magnesium, potassium and selenium. Vitamins A, E, and F, Omegas 3, 6 and 9.
You spent months in the Amazon Rainforest to learn all about the active ingredients and their healing powers that the natives have used for centuries - how important are rituals when it comes to skin care? Rituals are very good for the soul as well as for your skin. Consider starting by lighting the breu - it will give you a sense of calm and its scent will alleviate stress. Then start your skin ritual: begin with the body oil (after shower and dry brush for example) and follow with the face treatment. Your newly hydrated skin will be nourished and fed. Rituals are the consistent acts you provide to yourself to make you feel good.
What is the best beauty advice you’ve been given and who gave it to you? Joanna Czech advises to always move your hands upwards on your face massaging it with the face oil in fast motion. I trust her technique fully.
Thank you!
