At the family's own French winery, Château Smith Haut Lafitte, near Bordeaux, Mathilde and Bertrand Thomas became aware of the beauty talent of grape seeds. The by-product of the grape harvest offers particularly powerful antioxidants. In order not to leave these unused, they founded Caudalie in 1995. Since then, exclusive active ingredients from grapes and vines have been used consistently for their innovative, plant-based skin care line.
