Trudon
Ex-Voto Bust - Pink
This ex-voto (a symbol of worship for a saint or deity) was found during archaeological excavations in Syria in the 1850s. It was most likely an offering to a Syrian deity. The dedication is engraved around the wrist: "Prokla en ex-voto" means "To dedicate to yourself or your house". The original work is on display in the Louvre. As part of its collaboration with the Réunion des Musées Nationaux (Organization of French National Museums), Cire Trudon presents reproductions in different colors of wax. This ex-voto is adorned with a wick, a homage to a candle's primary function, although the wax sculptures are intended to be collected rather than burned.
