In our shop we not only have a large selection of international products, but also particularly exciting founders who stand behind the brands. We were curious to see what Maria Hastzistefanis and Amanda Lacey from London, Susanne Kaufmann from Bezau in Austria, Tata Harper from Vermont in the USA and Dr. Barbara Sturm, who travels between L.A., Düsseldorf and Munich, now have for summer plans and what should not be missing on the packing list!

Where do you spend your holidays?

Maria Hastzistefanis: I like spending time in LA because I love the weather and the atmosphere. And I can connect it well with the work, because I can update myself with our US partner and visit shops. I like to combine travel with a bit of business! My husband and my two boys are coming with me.

Susanne Kaufmann: This year we spend our holidays in Portugal and Spain. A kind of road trip. First in the Comporta and then in São Lourenço do Barrocal with our beautiful spa. After that we are in Andalusia. My husband, my two children and me.

Amanda Lacey: I like to travel with close friends. I love Italy. Or America. But I also have a house in the countryside. There I can relax very well and it inspires me again and again, e.g. I also had the idea for my care line there.

Tata Harper: I like to spend my holidays in different places because I love to explore and discover new things! Normally I go on holiday with my three children and sisters. We go everywhere - Europe, Colombia, and this summer we did a road trip on the west coast of California, which was a lot of fun.

Barbara Sturm: This year our family vacation on Ibiza takes place - we are there with all our children (5) and often even their friends. We have been there several times

Are you an early bird or a spontaneous traveller?

Maria: I am an absolute early bird because I always plan personal excursions around my work. That's why I tend to go on holiday when it's quiet in my office, so I don't miss too much.

Susanne: Of course we plan long family trips ahead. On weekend trips we are spontaneous.

Amanda: With me everything is spontaneous. I never make a big decision beforehand.

Tata: I am a planner! Travel has nothing spontaneous for me, so planning is essential.

Barbara: 100 percent spontaneous, which doesn't really fit into our lives at all. But my husband and I are not good at planning. At least not when it comes to our private lives.

Do you have a special summer care routine?

Maria: SPF is the key. I apply SPF 50 every day, it's a gift to the skin of the future. I also like summer masks like the Rodial Dragons Blood Eye Maskks or the Vit C Sheet Masks - my skin absorbs the moisture and looks even and radiant afterwards.

Susanne: I use our cleansing milk in the morning, then the tonic before I apply Eye Cream Line A and Advanced Anti-Aging Day Cream. I also use hyaluronic serum under day care to moisturize the skin cells under day care to moisturize the skin cells, which helps them bind moisture, and I find a new favourite in body care every day: body butter when my skin feels dry, body oils when I want to keep it supple, or a refreshing gel or body serum when temperatures are hot. I love the fact that our products are designed specifically for specific skin needs.

Amanda: That's easy and spontaneous with me because the skin doesn't need that much in summer. I tend to have a routine in winter.

Tata: This summer I particularly like to use the Hydrating Floral Essence. I have it in my pocket and spray it all day long. I also mix our new Resurfacing Serum with the Elixir Vitae Serum. Then follows the Illuminating Moisturizer ... which gives a beautiful shimmering skin. Then comes the Boosted Eye Mask (especially in planes) and finally the Volumizing Lip & Cheek Tint in Very Popular, which adds a touch of colour to lips and cheeks.

Barbara: Sure! In summer I apply the Sun Drops several times a day. I always use my mask, calming serum and super anti-aging serum after sunbathing. I also find it important to use the Eye Cream. On the beach I always have my Hyaluron ampoules for in between, preferably on ice so that they are especially chill.

What should not be missing in the luggage?

Maria: Sunglasses by Celine, Suncream and Rodial Diamond Concealer!

Susanne: Lip care, moisture spray (perfect refreshment in between), eye cream line A as well as our hand spray Purif-i (disinfects without drying out), and the leg and vein spray against tired, heavy feet that I use regularly on flights. In addition, I always have my laptop and my Smythson calendar with me on the plane. And I love clothes, I can spice them up perfectly with blazers or coats and I can take more with me if I can't make up my mind.

Amanda: A small hat for sun protection and a sun protection factor. And I always travel on long-haul flights with my goose down pillow. It protects my skin and is personal. Sometimes I drizzle it with some aromatic oil for a restful sleep.

Tata: With me always have to go: Hats, swimsuits, training tools, a mini steamer, various clothes and sandals, all my dietary supplements and skin care, sun cream and of course snacks!

Barbara: My kimonos and slip dresses.

Are there any special flight rituals?

Maria: I like to take my own food on board, then I can eat what I want and when I want! My iPad is always loaded with a new series/show, or I watch Ru Paul's Drag Race. I also always remove my make-up with cleansing pads and put on a mask.

Susanne: For a good night's sleep in the plane, my doctor Dr. Brigitte Klett, who also leads the TCM retreats at our Hotel Post Bezau, gives me a TCM soothing and sleeping tea in a bag. In the plane I just order hot water and ready to go. I use Susanne Kaufmann spray shortly before I go to sleep. A few splashes are enough for a more pleasant smell in the airplane, where I can relax better. Furthermore, for a better sleep on long-haul flights, the right food is especially important. Light, fresh food and never too much.

Amanda: As I said, I always travel with my own pillow. And on the plane I clean my face and always have mini portions of my grooming with me, like my face oil. I never use the in-flight kits! In addition, I generally don't drink alcohol on board, only water.

Tata: At my home there is always an open suitcase that can be packed ready. A few things like toothbrush & Co, Matcha mixer, steamer, training tools and swimsuits I generally never unpack. That simplifies it... In the airplane I always use the time to work. So I always have documents with me, my computer, podcasts, loading accessories, extra socks and a blanket.

Barbara: I always have my hyaluronic serum and my MC1 cream in my hand luggage when I get on the plane. I also wash my hands very often when I travel.

Do's & Don'ts on the beach?

Maria: I never sit in the sun, so I tend to find a place in the shade to read e-mails and check instagram.

Susanne: Do's: Well-groomed hands and feet, in summer also gladly with varnish. Put the hair mask into the tips, tie it to a knot or ponytail and let it work for the rest of the beach day.
Don'ts: No or too little sun cream. Unfortunately I still see a lot of people who don't protect themselves enough during a city trip or on the beach.

Amanda: : Do's: Light protection - always! But I never wear a higher LSF than a LSF 30, because the 50s are too extreme for me. But then I apply the SPF 30 more often.
Don'ts: Go into the midday sun. At noon you should be under the parasol..

Tata: Do's: Wear sun cream and a hat ... always. Drink plenty of water to stay hydrated. Enjoy a swim in the sea and bring a good book and relax!
Don'ts: Be on the beach at noon when the sun is strongest. I personally go either before 10 o'clock or after 17 o'clock. And don't use lemon on your skin and hair as it can burn.

Barbara: I do not lie in the direct sun and make sure that my skin is never exposed to the sun for long. I like to do water sports and swim a lot, but now I often wear a water T-shirt.

Make-up - yes and when?

Maria: I rarely wear make-up when I'm on holiday and when I do it it's super light like the Rodial Skin Tint and the Diamond Concealer, Rodial Bronzer and Glamolash XXL Mascara.

Susanne: Yes, but little. Mascara, a nice gloss and possibly something for a fresh complexion. Done. On vacation preferably make-up free

Amanda: On the beach I only wear light protection. And otherwise my make-up is sometimes limited to some foundation on the cheeks, mascara and lip balm mixed with some pink lipstick.

Tata: I wear almost never, nothing I love more than a beautiful, luminous, make-up free skin ... especially on vacation

Barbara: I generally don't wear make-up - just Storm Glow. It is best to apply a mask before going out and rub it off after 20 minutes. Then apply the Super Anti-Aging Serum, followed by the Calming Serum and the Glow Drops.

A book or music recommendation?

Maria: I like listening to a podcast or meditating with the Head Space App, it's great to clear your head.

Susanne: Right now I'm very busy with beauty food and read everything I can about it. Our cook in the hotel and I exchange a lot and talk a lot about this topic. It's incredible how food affects our skin. And in August we again have the Bezau Beatz music festival, organized by my husband. I'm listening to the bands performing there.

Amanda: The music of London Grammar accompanies me. And I like to read John Steinbeck.

Tata: I'm reading "Genius Foods: Become Smarter, Happier, and More Productive While Protecting Your Brain for Life" by Max Lugavere. My favourite music is Salsa ... or anything I can dance to! I love so many different kinds of music based on my mood ... my songs for this summer are "Sativa" by Jhene Aiko - Trip, "No Es Justo" by J Balvin & Zion & Lennox and "Maliblue" by Darious - Belour.

Barbara: Right now I'm reading Milan Condera - The unbearable lightness of being

The perfect holiday?

Maria: The perfect holiday day is the kind of day where you can really relax and unwind, no matter where you are.

Susanne: Go swimming in the morning, breakfast, speeches, reading the newspaper. Eating fish in a beach bar at lunchtime, going to the beach in the afternoon, walking and swimming.

Amanda: Many different things to experience. To be active. And to discover, but also long meals with friends and yes, even a little bit of sightseeing.

Tata: A "No Plan" day - a spontaneous day on which I explore new restaurants, hike and simply have no plans.

Barbara: A perfect holiday day looks like this to me: Sleeping late, doing sports, going by boat to a lonely bay, enjoying a great lunch at Chez Gerdi, relaxing on the beach in the evening and generally relaxing a lot. It is also important for me to be with the children a lot and to find some time for myself.

What do you bring along as a souvenir?

Maria: Good memories!

Susanne: Often something handcrafted that only exists there. Last year a hand-woven carpet also Portugal.

Amanda: Something I can't find in England or a special piece of jewellery.

Tata: I always try to buy a sticker of the city to stick on my suitcase.... I have dozens of them from all my travels! And I also love coming home with something local. In California, I discovered a beautiful handcrafted dream catcher that a woman in Big Sur sold.

Barbara: Many beautiful memories.

Thank you for your insights Maria, Susanne, Amanda, Tata and Barbara!
