Sunset Hour is a wonderful summer sun fragrance, very soft, very creamy and extremely feminine. Delicately powdery and bright like the white sand on Cable Beach in the northern Australian coastal town of Broome, warm and comforting like the setting sun and with a delicate hint of salty sea breeze. The fragrance opens with a crisp accord of pear, mandarin and desert peach - a tart, peach and rhubarb-infused fruit note with an unmistakable salt-encrusted, sun-kissed skin feel. In the heart, the tropical exoticism of desert peach is enhanced by the rich white florals of jasmine with green mango, ginger and coconut cream, while pink pepper accentuates the spiciness of this central ingredient. Australian sandalwood, itself a close relative of quandong, provides a spicy green woody base for the fruity decadence of coconut and desert peach, which continue through to the soft musky vanilla base.
The cheerful, life-affirming, gentle eau de parfum is said to evoke a sunrise in the top notes, a tropical heart and a base that carries the mood of a sunset.
- Sunset Hour takes you to the tropical climes of northwest Australia, more precisely to the coastal town of Broome. The typical Australian fragrance: the quandong - desert peach - is a specialty of the fifth continent. The shrub-like Santalum acuminatum, which belongs to the sandalwood family, produces deep red fruits about 2 cm in size. When the sun dips into the Indian Ocean in the evening, the scent of local fruit permeates the lazy evening breeze. This heavenly elixir inspired the perfumer to create this sensually delicious fragrance.
