Seductive fragrances, an exceptional packaging design and genuine craftsmanship have been the standard of the beauty and fragrance company Claus Porto for over a century. The first soap factory in Portugal was founded in 1887 by Ferdinand Claus and Georges Schweder, two German chemists living in Porto. To this day, the elaborate manufacturing process has not changed and is not least one of the world's best soap producers.

CRAFTSMANSHIP SINCE 1887

Claus Porto was founded in 1887 by two German businessmen, Georges Schweder and Ferdinand Claus, in the fascinating Portuguese port city of Porto. Their vision was to produce handmade soaps inspired by the scents and landscapes of Portugal. Over four generations, the prestigious brand has maintained its authenticity and expertise in soaps, colognes, body care, candles, diffusers and men's grooming.
Claus Porto's products stand out for their original, handmade labels inspired by vintage designs. These prints come from the brand's extensive archive and pay homage to the opulent aesthetics of early 20th century European Belle Époque and the world-famous azulejos. Today, the brand is represented in more than 50 countries and in the best shops around the world.

COLLECTIONS INSPIRED BY PORTUGAL

Inspired by Portugal, art and its own brand heritage, which is more than a century old, Claus Porto offers four different Collections:
. The Deco Collection - soaps, body washes, body lotions, hand creams, scented candles and diffusers - is inspired by the designs that made Claus Porto famous in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
2. The Classico Collection includes 16 soaps blended with pistachio seed and mango oils and a variety of fragrances. The packaging evokes the art and architectural styles of Portugal over the years.
3. The Agua de Colonia Collection was created by perfumer Lyn Harris after a trip through Portugal and smells of pine forests, a fresh sea breeze, sunshine, oranges and lemons.
4. The Musgo Real Collection is formulated with lanolin, glycerin, shea butter and walnut oil to ensure a moisturising and close shave.

Since its founding in 1887, Claus Porto has placed great importance on transparency, quality and sustainability in the manufacture of its products. The brand works every day to minimise the harm we do to our planet and to continuously improve their practices. Their production method follows a strict and certified quality control process that - from the selection of ingredients to the final packaging - pays attention to all stages of production. The ingredients used are sourced from the lush, rural regions of Portugal and processed by hand using time-honoured manufacturing methods. By using recycled plastic for packaging and other biodegradable materials, and sourcing sustainable ingredients - for which workers are paid a fair wage - Claus Porto strives to do its part for a cleaner and safer environment.
