- The House of Creed is an authentic, luxury house dedicated to the creation of highly original fragrances made from exquisite ingredients.
- The legend of the brand begins in 1760 when a pair of scented leather gloves was delivered to King George III by a new London tailoring company.
- Queen Victoria - George III’s granddaughter - appointed Creed as an official supplier to the Royal Household.
- In 1854, under the patronage of Napoleon III and his Empress, Eugénie, the stylish leader of European fashion, the House of Creed established another headquarters in Paris, France. Creed supplied most of the royalty of the time.
- In 1902 a visiting card provided two separate addresses for Henry Creed both in France; Paris and Nice. The latter is situated just 25km from Grasse, which was considered the centre of the French fragrance industry at the time. It would have been common practice for tailors to scent hemlines and leather gloves with fragrance.
- Still based at Paris, with a factory at Fontainebleau, Creed manufactures many of its own essences using a traditional technique – a process now abandoned by most as too costly but which sets the Creed fragrances apart from some of their modern counterparts.
